PicoScope 4823 8-Channel Automotive Oscilloscope, 20 MHz, 12 bit, USB 3.0

The PicoScope 4823 is a high-speed, high-resolution, 8-channel automotive oscilloscope. It is fast enough for CAN, CAN FD, and FlexRay including serial data decoding. It is ready-configured for automotive probes and includes more than 150 guided tests, plus access to thousands of comparisons in the Pico waveform library. The PicoScope 4823 sample rate is max. 80 MS/s, the resolution is 12 bit, the bandwidth 20 MHz and the buffer memory depth 256 MS. The PicoScope 4823 has a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface and an integrated arbitrary waveform generator. The device is available as a scope-only option, or in a Professional Kit with accessories.

Why an Automotive Scope With More Than 4 Channels?

There are certain applications that require 6 and more channels like for example:

  • V6/V8 cam timing (4/6 cams plus crank, and sometimes a WPS), and VVT timing systems.
  • Trucks, construction and agriculture equipment where technicians require a mix of electrical and hydraulic measurements on multiple valves simultaneously to diagnose problems with system interaction.
  • Full system diagnosis on components (including power, ground, signals, current).
  • General engine diagnostics.
