Compact Remote Modules for Ethernet - Series ED-000/200
Models Brainboxes ED-004, ED-008, ED-038, ED-204, Wall-Mountable
The Brainboxes ED-000/200 series are wall-mountable (optional DIN-rail mounting kit), industrial remote-I/O modules with various I/O combinations. They offer digital-I/O, relays or interface conversion to serial/RS232 - depending on the model. They are supported by a variety of software options.
- Ethernet: 10BaseT/100BaseTX. Ethernet-to-I/O isolation. Supports Modbus TCP or ASCII commands.
- Serial - ED-004/204: RS232 with 1 MBaud rate.
- Digital-I/O: Number of channels see table below. Inputs: Individual NPN/PNP jumper configuration. Non-isolated. Outputs: Current sink low-side switch, open-drain MOSFET.
- Relays - ED-038: 3 form A SPST, normally open. Contact ratings: 5 A at 30 VDC or 250 VAC or 110 AAC.
- Wall-mountable, optional DIN-rail mountable, compact, rugged IP 0 housing.
- Temperature range of -0...+60°C.
- Status LED.
- Power supply: +5...+30 VDC. Can use 5 V power from any computer USB port via optional accessory cable.
- Signed drivers for a wide variety of third party softwares.

Models Brainboxes ED-516, ED-527, ED-538, ED-549, ED-560, ED-582, ED-588, ED-593, DIN-Rail Mountable
The Brainboxes ED-500 series are DIN-rail mountable, industrial remote-I/O modules/device servers with various I/O combinations. Depending on the version they offer analog inputs/outputs, digital-I/O, relays or interface conversion to serial/RS232, RS422, RS485. For industrial applications, they have an extended temperature range of -30...+80°C and are supported by a variety of software options.
- Ethernet: 10BaseT/100BaseTX, protocols: ICMP, IP, TCP, DHCP, Telnet, HTTP. Web server/browser interface. Ethernet-to-I/O isolation.
- Serial - ED-504: RS232, RS422, RS485 port (software selectable) with 1 MBaud rate.
- Digital-I/O: Number of channels see table below. Inputs: Individual NPN/PNP jumper configuration. Non-isolated. Outputs: Current sink low-side switch, open-drain MOSFET.
- Relays - ED-538: 4 form A SPST, normally open. Contact ratings: 5 A at 30 VDC or 250 VAC or 110 AAC.
- Analog inputs - ED-549: 8, independently configurable as differential voltage inputs (±10, ±5, ±2.5, ±1 V, ±500, ±250, ±150, ±75 mV) or current inputs (±20, 0...20, 4...20 mA). 16 bit resolution. Isolated from power, network, RS485 port.
- RTD sensor inputs - ED582: 4x RTD (Pt100, Pt1000, Ni120), 2-, 3-, or 4-wire connection; range -200...+600°C, 16 bit, 5 measurements/s.
- Analog outputs - ED-560: 4, voltage outputs (0...10 V) or current outputs (0...20, 4...20 mA; sink, requires external power source). 12 bit resolution. Isolated from power, network, RS485 port.
- Models with built-in RS485 gateway to NuDAM/ADAM industrial modules.
- DIN-rail mountable, slim shape. IP20 housing.
- Extended temperature range of -30...+80°C.
- Watchdog feature.
