Saleae - Logic Analysis With Analog Acquisition
Saleae Logic and Logic-Pro products are USB PC logic analyzers with additional analog data acquisition. Analog data acquisition is a practical addition that is rarely found in conventional logic analyzers. The digital/logic channels are freely switchable to analog acquisition with 12 bit/up to 50 MS/s on all channels (10 bit/up to 10 MS/s on the Logic-8).
Analog acquisition is particularly suitable for applications where a microcontroller interacts in some way with an analog signal, such as reading an analog voltage or controlling an analog voltage. However, they do not replace a mixed-signal oscilloscope because they have a lower bandwidth than oscilloscopes and do not have variable gain and shift inputs, meaning the input voltage range is fixed. You therefore need an oscilloscope for analyzing signal integrity, high-bandwidth analog signals, or small voltages with high resolution (e.g., less than 100 mVpp) or analog voltages outside the range of 0...5 V (Logic 4, Logic 8) or -10...+10 V (Logic Pro 8, Logic Pro 16).
